John White married Eliza Ann Ray. Eliza Ann (parents Caswell Charles Ray and Elizabeth Mary Arnett) was born Janurary 15, 1843 in Phelps Co., Missouri, USA. She died October 24, 1919 in Rolla, Phelps Co., Missouri, USA.
John White McCracken served in the Civil War. Enlisted in the Third Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Calavry on November 18, 1862, and mustered out on December 5, 1964. He recieved a Civil War pension for being wounded. While serving in the Civil War, John applied for a Homestead in Missouri. After the war ended, he moved to Rolla Missouri and met Eliza where they married and lived on the homestead until his death.
